Man, Dirk has a lot more mad respect for Rider than he used to ever since Jake disappeared. Rider really did an A+ job of comforting him and just being a goddam bro during that period in his life. Rider also gets points because Dirk told Dave that there was know possible maybe could piss off Rider; and Rider proved him right. 8D Being nice to Dave is mad props.

He still thinks Rider has his issues, and sucks at dealing with his own problems, but he thinks he is a very sweet dude and an excellent friend.

I-I'm not sure what that sentence says. No possible way he could piss off Rider? To be fair, Dave didn't try hard and it's not like Rider could be mad at someone for Social Awkwardness. Easier to be nice to strangers anyway.

He's still a bit what do about Dirk, but Dirk is far less of a question mark than he was. He's got a frame of reference for why Dirk might be so hard to get a read on, because social isolation is terrible for people, let alone literal isolation. That anger and bitterness misdirected at him before is gone, but it has made him a bit tentative about how he approaches Dirk because he doesn't want it to go that badly again. But he's found a few ways to approach Dirk that seems to work most of the time and there's been moments he thinks they're connecting a bit, so he's happy about that. He really does like Dirk more now and it's nice to have someone who will answer some of his more weird questions, even if it comes at a price a lot. While Rider knows he doesn't appreciate it at the time, he does appreciate that Dirk will push him to do things he really should be doing. It will just be a hindsight thing when he realizes he needed it. He knows he sucks at dealing with his own problems. =D (Though that will improve after his happy, giddy memory.)

He's also being very careful to be sure Dirk can see him about to touch him or outright asking unless he's very obviously suddenly distressed, like when he took the memory. He also won't question what sort of touches Dirk gives him, even though that cheek kiss still has him really bewildered.

How is Dirk doing with physical touches?

Dirk is doing really well with them lately simply because he is SO HAPPY all the time because of Dave. Being in a good mood vastly improves his desire to touch and be touched. But his base tolerance is getting a lot better, and, in general, he feels like he is doing good at the socializing thing.

Does Rider feel accepted outside of Heliodor? Does he feel like he has a lot of friends?

Rider is weird about friends. It takes a loooong while before he's willing to say he's friends with someone first. If they say it first, it's totally cool, but he's not allowed. He might like someone enough to want to be their friend, which is actually a lot of people, but he won't assume this is returned easily. There's only been a few people he's used the friend word around, so he doesn't feel he has a lot who are actually friends.

Overall though, he does feel more accepted. He's still constantly afraid he'll be rejected, but the fact is, Aather is just more welcoming of his type than Berk. Several people have told him time and again it's all right he's physically weak, that it's cool he's so smart, and he's gotten more praise than he's ever expected. It's gotten to the point he's not waiting for the other shoe to drop as a whole. INDIVIDUALS will probably still reject him, but Aather as a whole will not.

What does Dirk think of Heliodor?

Dirk keeps being mroe and more grateful for Heliodor the more he remembers about his life before he came here. Even with the high turnover rate Heliodor is consistently tolerant and respectful of his idiosyncrasies while still pushing him to do better. He feels like they legit care about him and look out for him, even though the team right now is kind of loose. He even kind of appreciates the fact that Heliodor is kinda of two minds: the more innocent side of the team (Mamori, Rider) and then like... Jason and Sion and the ok we gotta kill people to survive. They balance each other well; when they get closer they will be quite formidable.
