It's difficult for Dirk to separate what he thinks of Dave versus how he feels about Dave which is just. DERE DERE DERE bro .////. aaah bro.

Dirk thinks Dave is precious and perfect and brave. :x Because we has obviously raised in this environment where talking about feelings was a thing not to do, but he still does it to positive effect! He does feel the need to push him a little--because Dave obviously has problems admitting his problems (Ironically??? because Dave talks about his problems all the time, just not... in the framework of problems) so Dirk is already sort of taking on this paternalistic attitude of "I know what's good for you." and frankly, he is not as good as checking himself on that as he thinks he is.

He is kind of alarmed at how Dave was raised as basically... starved for love and affection and stability and he thinks Dave himself does not realize how open he actually is about his emotions. (Which is adorable) He thinks Dave is really discouraged with his own combative personality and he really just wants to be accepted and belong--which Dirk is basically tripping all over himself not to give him all in a rush. He feels really at home hanging out with Dave and deeply appreciates how honest and accepting Dave is with him.

The most difficult part for Dave was the disconnect between his Bro and Dirk, where Dirk was a little overwhelming at first because of his open discussion of emotion (??!???!?!!) and acceptance of Dave's personality - which basically no one in aather had really given him without a fight up til that point. It's a big part of the reason he's accepting of Dirk, because he's easy to talk to and tends to get his points without getting angry at him. If he was consciously aware of Dirk making him talk about his problems, he would probably get peeved, but it's actually something he falls into easily because he's wanted to talk about for a while. It's hard having daddy issues.

And he's right, Dave is frustrated with his own combativeness, but he doesn't want to give it up at the cost of his own personality. When he hangs out with Dirk (or Rose and Tavros) he tends to feel the best about that, and Dirk's managed to work his way into top tier levels of caring while skipping the "huge fight" portion of the Dave Strider befriending process, which is kind of a miracle. He thinks Dirk in general is a pretty cool guy (albiet with some weird horse-related things) and looks up to him a lot (not that he'd say it), and really admires his stable relationships and team-bonding and all that shit Dave only barely manages to keep together.

lmfoa o fuckin bro yeaaah he's still a little lost on how to feel about that particular whammy, but it isn't so much that the bro-thing is the problem as much as it is about not only is it super gay but wow sex that's pretty big. it's a BIG DEAL despite the fact Dave was raised by a porn empire owner and the internet, he's kind of a prude, and people just coming out and talking about boning and boning everywhere is pretty confusing territory. He's coming around to the idea, mostly because he feels like even if he does fuck it up they'll still be bros, and he likes the compliments and attention. Dirk is pretty psyched he is even considering it! But he's not in a rush. Dirk enjoys sex and is excited to do it and obviously not a prude, but he enjoys it because of the closeness and intimacy and touching. He did not mind Dave getting his ass kicked since it was in the context of a a strife BUT he was kind of annoyed and alarmed that his AU older self didn’t stick around to like... take care of him after or tell him good job (Dirk thinks Dave was pretty awesome) or anything. He wanted to point out that that was kind of a dick move, but he is careful about what he says around Dave.He doesn’t want to give the impression that he is trying to replace or be better than Bro. He... understands Bro, a little bit, but there’s also a part of him that’s kind of pissed at what he perceives as his AU self not loving or appreciating Dave.

IT WAS an interesting experience and while he doesn't regret it exactly he's already pretty deep in his guilty feelings about Rose - so in general he's just not thought about it much since it's happened. If he does it's one of those moments where you just have to sit down and be overwhelmed with embarrassment for a while. If Dirk tries to bring it up he'll probably be cagey as hell about it while he goes through the "kissed a dude and i liked it" torments. He'd do it again though - he has to restore his honor, because dang he is a Strider there is no excuse for sloppy form. That said he's a little worried about how much Dirk's team is going to figure out, because yeah he trusts his bro not to outright say, but like okay they went in the basement and dave left in an embarrassed hurry really how hard can it be to puzzle that out.

The last one is the biggest deal to Dirk by far, since even now he is wary of how overbearing he can be. Dirk is about quality over quantity when it comes to touching and for all the kissing meant to him emotionally it might as well have been a blow job.

Dirk is super content to proceed at Dave's pace, since he finds it incredibly rewarding when Dave trusts him.

Man, Dirk has a lot more mad respect for Rider than he used to ever since Jake disappeared. Rider really did an A+ job of comforting him and just being a goddam bro during that period in his life. Rider also gets points because Dirk told Dave that there was know possible maybe could piss off Rider; and Rider proved him right. 8D Being nice to Dave is mad props.

He still thinks Rider has his issues, and sucks at dealing with his own problems, but he thinks he is a very sweet dude and an excellent friend.

I-I'm not sure what that sentence says. No possible way he could piss off Rider? To be fair, Dave didn't try hard and it's not like Rider could be mad at someone for Social Awkwardness. Easier to be nice to strangers anyway.

He's still a bit what do about Dirk, but Dirk is far less of a question mark than he was. He's got a frame of reference for why Dirk might be so hard to get a read on, because social isolation is terrible for people, let alone literal isolation. That anger and bitterness misdirected at him before is gone, but it has made him a bit tentative about how he approaches Dirk because he doesn't want it to go that badly again. But he's found a few ways to approach Dirk that seems to work most of the time and there's been moments he thinks they're connecting a bit, so he's happy about that. He really does like Dirk more now and it's nice to have someone who will answer some of his more weird questions, even if it comes at a price a lot. While Rider knows he doesn't appreciate it at the time, he does appreciate that Dirk will push him to do things he really should be doing. It will just be a hindsight thing when he realizes he needed it. He knows he sucks at dealing with his own problems. =D (Though that will improve after his happy, giddy memory.)

He's also being very careful to be sure Dirk can see him about to touch him or outright asking unless he's very obviously suddenly distressed, like when he took the memory. He also won't question what sort of touches Dirk gives him, even though that cheek kiss still has him really bewildered.

How is Dirk doing with physical touches?

Dirk is doing really well with them lately simply because he is SO HAPPY all the time because of Dave. Being in a good mood vastly improves his desire to touch and be touched. But his base tolerance is getting a lot better, and, in general, he feels like he is doing good at the socializing thing.

Does Rider feel accepted outside of Heliodor? Does he feel like he has a lot of friends?

Rider is weird about friends. It takes a loooong while before he's willing to say he's friends with someone first. If they say it first, it's totally cool, but he's not allowed. He might like someone enough to want to be their friend, which is actually a lot of people, but he won't assume this is returned easily. There's only been a few people he's used the friend word around, so he doesn't feel he has a lot who are actually friends.

Overall though, he does feel more accepted. He's still constantly afraid he'll be rejected, but the fact is, Aather is just more welcoming of his type than Berk. Several people have told him time and again it's all right he's physically weak, that it's cool he's so smart, and he's gotten more praise than he's ever expected. It's gotten to the point he's not waiting for the other shoe to drop as a whole. INDIVIDUALS will probably still reject him, but Aather as a whole will not.

What does Dirk think of Heliodor?

Dirk keeps being mroe and more grateful for Heliodor the more he remembers about his life before he came here. Even with the high turnover rate Heliodor is consistently tolerant and respectful of his idiosyncrasies while still pushing him to do better. He feels like they legit care about him and look out for him, even though the team right now is kind of loose. He even kind of appreciates the fact that Heliodor is kinda of two minds: the more innocent side of the team (Mamori, Rider) and then like... Jason and Sion and the ok we gotta kill people to survive. They balance each other well; when they get closer they will be quite formidable.

Yuri continues to totally love and adore Echo '-' AND BE EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT HER INTEREST IN VICNENT. Yuri supports her plan to capture Doldum but like... E-Echo not like that honey. He also just kind of wishes she'd let it go and just live her life. She is a very sweet, cute girl who could do very well for herself! She makes Yuri feel kind of worn out and limited by comparison. Dirk has a difficult time with him sometimes >O HE SEES THAT they are kindred souls, in a way, but I think Sion has the edge of being older and a bit more mature, not to mention being better socialized. So Sion makes Dirk feel like he’s floundering a bit when he’s normally the master of the conversations he enters. But despite that, he feels pretty comfortable around himIt’s nice to have another partner to have a sort of playful conversation with.

He’s very curious about Sion, but he’s kind of shy about pulling his normal BE AS AWKWARDLY DIRECT AS POSSIBLE because he doesn’t feel like he has a handle on him...

Sion is actually really comfortable with Dirk, probably because Dirk doesn't have a lot of obvious feelings and expectations so Sion feels fairly relaxed just having playful conversations or talking to him or whatever. Dirk is easy for him to interact with because he answers deadpan and he knows how to joke with it. Sion likes him! He enjoys finding ways to fluster him, as much as Dirk flusters, because, look, Dirk IS adorable, undeniable fact.

So while he doesn't feel he and Dirk are really close yet, he does feel that they're fairly comfortable, and he appreciates that.

Basically he's pretty chill at developing their friendship at whatever pace it goes, he finds Dirk pretty easy to be around.

Dirk is surprisingly passive about games! Mostly because not very many of them entertain him. He doesn't like games with forced interaction (like social bingo, etc.) because he DOES like interacting--but only on his own terms. Dirk gives off the appearance of being social because he has a decent number of solid acquaintances, but most of the people (Like Naha, and Maleficient, and Cass, and Rose) he only talked to in the first place because he had an angle to approach them on. Dirk doesn't like casually exchanging intimacy, because it's so important to him, but he'll play the games anyway just to win.

And trauma games don't really phase him. Dirk has never solidly been MUST PROTECT HELIODOR AT ALL COSTS or MUST SACRIFICE SELF TO PROTECT OTHERS. He recognizes that some people on Heliodor need to do the latter, and some the former, and since everyone gets healed after it's kind of pointless to wring hands over it. Now that Dave is around Dirk will absolutely bus anyone to protect both Dave and himself, but that's for the future. Jason usually takes point on trauma games and Dirk generally agrees with him, so he's not super motivated to voice an opinion.

Dirk likes games that stimulate his strategy boner and his intellectual curiosity, like the first game he played in (Peter Pan's Battle Royale with the knights) and Three's exploradora game. A lot of the time games are kind of awkward for him and he feels he's not pulling his weight, though it doesn't bother him overmuch, cause they sure still win a bunch.

What does Sion think about games?

Sion has basically one goal in games: protect Heliodor (and Turquoise, Yuki and Kazuki if they're playing, he will bus other knights or the rest of Sapphire though). That means in non-dangerous games he generally doesn't give any fucks about anything, so won't comment much usually. This'll change when he unlocks his gaming/competitive streak skill, but for now if it's a non-dangerous game he is content to let the rest of the team do whatever they want and maybe add his input a little. He finds it hard to relax in games, but now and then he's found he can have fun with Heliodor in them, and that's actually nice, and he does like winning memories even if he hates his memories. But for the normal games he just typically is apathetic to them.

For games with potential injury and death he is also not really one to take charge, his role in canon is "support/guardian/adviser" so he'll definitely argue his stance but he won't usually push for his way unless he sees someone being self-sacrificial or one of his things is in danger.

In general his stance on games is "this is just like home only the mechanics are different but the end goal is kind of sadistic/voyeuristic enjoyment of watching us dance" because in his world the beings that run death games basically outright say it's purely for their own pleasure and Sion can't disassociate the Personae from those beings so he absolutely correlates the motives as well. Another reason he doesn't put much effort in on the normal games, not wanting to give the Personae any satisfaction (which does conflict with his desire to win).
